Cork Bath Mat

The guest bathroom is our smallest room, and therefore the first to get worked on (we like to get some good steam going before tackling bigger rooms).

Back in March I ran across this clever bath mat on CraftyNest and decided to give it a whirl.  I followed the directions pretty much to a “T,” except :

  • i used a gripping shelf liner (like this one, in taupe) to allow moisture to breathe through the bottom of the mat
  • i cut the corks in half with a hacksaw, which I found more conducive to cutting than a pocketknife

Read a bit more about the project here. Now, if only the bathroom was ready for it!

Oooh, I have a lot of corks and was considering this. I’m also thinking of making little “plant rests” (like the thing that would go under a plant pot just in case so it won’t leave a ring on your windowsill)
